We transform alloy composition and microstructure atom by atom using 3D atom-probe tomography and AI-guided CALPHAD. This enables precise control over precipitates, grain boundaries, and solute segregation — directly improving creep resistance, fatigue life, and recyclability in Ni-superalloys, Al-Mg alloys, and beyond.

Yes. We offer collaboration via joint projects, PhD exchanges, or funded programs (SERB/DST/PMRF).

Aerospace (creep-resistant Ni-blades), automotive/EV (lightweight Al-Mg), energy (Cu-connectors, high-entropy alloys), and circular manufacturing. Our researches on alloys are designed for long life, full recyclability, and real-world validation in turbines, motors, and structural components.

Prospective Ph.D. and Masters Students

If you would like to work with us, the following are procedures at IISc:

  • Ph.D. aspirants: Apply according to IISc rules and then an interview will follow at the Department of Materials Engineering.

  • M.Tech aspirants: Apply according to IISc rules.

Prospective Post Doctoral Researchers and Project Assistant

If you would like to work with us, write to the PI (Principal Investigator) for any possibilities. Below are a few fellowship opportunities for post-doctoral researchers.
